Happy Cinco de Mayo! For those of you who are looking for something fun and festive to do this weekend, you came to the right place! Here are some fun ideas for Cinco de Mayo in Grand Prairie.
Fiesta Tecaliso, a Cinco de Mayo concert celebration, is an event of merging cultures and musical styles. Produced by the U.S.-Mexico Cultural and Educational Foundation, the event brings together the legendary mariachi band, Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán and pairs them with the superb Irving Symphony Orchestra.
Make plans to come out to downtown Grand Prairie for the 30th annual Cinco de Mayo Parade and Celebration. A community parade gets the fun started at 10 a.m. (1405 Main St. near Graff Chevrolet, west to the City Hall Complex) and festivities continue at City Hall, noon until 6 p.m. The celebration includes Grand Prairie ISD performers, mariachi bands, folkloric dancers and vocalists, Tex-Mex festival foods, bounce houses, an art contest and more.
Traders Village will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo with live music with La Mexicana 87.7FM and LATV. There will be a full afternoon of entertainment featuring the popular duo Nestor y Marie. Join the celebration in the Big Red Patio starting at 1 pm!
This might not be your traditional Cinco de Mayo celebration, but it’s definitely a good time! The Oasis is Grand Prairie’s floating restaurant on Joe Pool Lake and all weekend they have live music in the bar and patio. This is the perfect place to watch the sunset, grab you a margarita and celebrate Cinco de Mayo.
